For safety this is recommended but there are issues with this design because in case of emergency, it will be difficult to open from the outside unless the correct key is found. Therefore most safety officers recommend that the keys of double cylinder dead bolts are placed in areas where near the level of the floor because in case of fire, the cleanest air is at the floor level.

 

This problem is not encountered with single cylinder deadbolt door lockand therefore these are mostly used in fire exits. But the best protection is given by the double cylinder dead bolt locks.
